Diversity at ASIC
It is for good reason that ASIC is committed to promoting and supporting diversity.
As Australia's corporate, markets and financial services regulator, ASIC can play a lead role in the business community through the implementation of a diversity and inclusion plan. This plan will contribute to fostering a workforce reflective of the communities' ASIC works for and regulates. Diversity and inclusion are also part of a broader business imperative associated with diversity of thinking as a way of enhancing our performance – the quality of our decision making, leadership and professional development as well as our capacity to innovate.
ASIC is well positioned to take our diversity agenda to the next level. Our approach to diversity is aligned to our strategic priorities and is embedded in our people frameworks which shape our culture and how we want to do things, including our new values (Accountability, Professionalism and Teamwork), our customer service charter and our employee value proposition.
Our vision for diversity will be delivered through three pillars:
We will develop programs, resources and policies to provide services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers and investors, one of our key stakeholder groups through our Reconciliation Action Plan (PDF 622 KB).
We want to engage and communicate with communities from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds through our ASIC Multicultural Access and Equity Plan 2016-2017 (PDF 157 KB).
