Applying for an AFS licence: eLicensing
Do you need a licence?
Before you begin, decide whether you need an AFS licence
How to apply for your licence
The best way to apply for your AFS licence is online using our eLicensing system, which individually tailors the AFS licence application to your business.
There are many advantages to applying online. You can start your application, save it as a draft and resume it as many times as you like before you finalise and submit it to us. When you apply online the application fee is also substantially lower.
What if you can't apply online?
Before you start your application
Take the time to read the AFS Licensing Kit:
| Part 1 | Applying for and varying an AFS licence. Read this for an overview of the application process. |
| Part 2 | Preparing your AFS licence or variation application. This helps you answer the questions in the application form and prepare your 'core' supporting proof documents. |
| Part 3 | Preparing your additional proofs. This explains any additional proof documents you might be asked to provide. |
You can familiarise yourself with the AFS licence application by reading our sample online application. The sample application shows all the possible questions and outcomes that the eLicensing system is capable of. You won’t be asked all these questions because the eLicensing system tailors your application to your business.
Getting your application accepted quickly
To make sure that your application is assessed as quickly as possible it is important that the information you supply to us is correct and complete. If your application does not meet our requirements it could be returned to you, or refused or there could be substantial delays while we seek further information from you.
We've issued many other documents to help you. You will find references to these in the AFS Licensing Kit. You can download copies of them as PDF files.
