12-226MR Former WealthSure financial adviser charged with $500,000 fraud

Former WealthSure financial adviser, Mr Brian William Veitch, yesterday appeared before the Downing Centre Local Court on 22 fraud charges brought by ASIC.

Mr Veitch, formerly of Minto, New South Wales, is charged with 21 counts of obtaining money by false and misleading statements, and 1 count of attempted use of a false instrument.

Mr Veitch was an authorised representative of WealthSure Pty Ltd from 14 December 2005 to 23 February 2010.

ASIC alleges that between 23 October 2008 and 5 February 2010, Mr Veitch:

These charges follow ASIC’s investigation into Mr Veitch’s former role as a financial adviser.

Mr Veitch was granted conditional bail. The matter will return to the Downing Centre District Local Court on 6 November 2012.

The Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions is prosecuting this matter.
