Business name registration

Through ASIC Connect, you can apply to register a business name and pay your registration fee online. The application takes around 15-20 minutes and you will get on the spot confirmation that your application has been submitted.

See our user guide for step by step instructions on How to apply for a business name.

Updating business names

You can use ASIC Connect to update your business name details online. In most cases, you will receive confirmation on the spot that updates to your business name details have been made.

Some transactions are not yet available on ASIC Connect. These transactions must be completed in paper.

SMSF auditor registrations

You can apply for registration as an approved self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) auditor through ASIC Connect and pay the application fee online.

See our user guide for step-by-step instructions on How to apply for SMSF auditor registration.

Updating SMSF auditor details

Once you have successfully registered as an approved SMSF auditor, use ASIC Connect to ensure that your information on the SMSF auditor register, including details such as names and addresses, is correct and kept up-to-date.

You can also use ASIC Connect to make a number of other notifications.

See our user guide for step-by-step instruction on How to update SMSF auditor details.

You can view both free and paid information about entities such as companies, business name holders and SMSF auditors, check names availability, purchase register extracts and documents online.
