Auskey and ASIC Connect

You can choose to log in to ASIC Connect with your AUSkey. You do not have to use an AUSkey to log in and can use your existing username and password if you prefer.

When can I use my AUSkey?

The table below shows the most common scenarios for customers planning to use an AUSkey:

  • recorded on the ASIC register, and;
  • matches the ABN registered to your AUSkey.

  • recorded on the ASIC register, but;
  • does not match the ABN registered to your AUSkey.

Your registration will not be linked to your account. You will need to:

  • check you have used the correct AUSkey and try again, or;
  • log in to ASIC Connect with a username and password.

a business name holder

not recorded on the ASIC register for your business.

You will need to submit the 'Add an ABN to a business name holder' transaction

Already have an ASIC Connect account? Submit your transaction online and update the register now.

You can also complete the 'Add an ABN to a business name holder' transaction in paper.

Once complete, your business name will appear in ASIC Connect when logging in with your AUSkey.

Send a web query to update your ABN details. You must include your ASIC key and SMSF auditor number.

Once complete, your SMSF auditor registration will be linked to your ASIC Connect account.

Logging in with your AUSkey

You can log in to ASIC Connect with your AUSkey in three simple steps.

  1. Select the ASIC Connect link at the top right-hand corner of this webpage.
  2. Log in to ASIC Connect by selecting the 'AUSkey 'button. 
  3. Select your AUSkey from the drop-down menu and enter your AUSkey password.
