Portfolio holdings disclosure

ASIC issues regulatory materials including regulatory guides, information sheets, letters to trustees, consultation papers and FAQs, and may grant individual and legislative instrument (formerly class order) relief to guide and assist the industry to meet the regulatory requirements relevant to the superannuation industry.

Commencement of the obligations of trustees to make information relating to investment of assets publicly available, and for second parties to provide information relating to investment of assets has been deferred until 1 July 2017 - see ASIC Corporations (Amendment) Instrument 2016/351, which amends Class Order 14/443 Deferral of choice product dashboard and portfolio holdings disclosure regimes (CO 14/443).

The first reporting date is 31 December 2017.

Innovative retirement income stream products

From 1 July 2017, the government will extend the tax exemption on earnings in the retirement phase to new innovative retirement income stream products. A new cross-agency process has been developed to help industry.
