Super industry liaison

ASIC adopts a structured approach to investment management and superannuation industry liaison to more efficiently engage and consult with industry about emerging issues and trends and key issues and messages in these areas.

Our key liaison initiatives include:

  • ASIC Insights seminar series with either, or both, a superannuation and managed investments focus.  These seminars are held annually, and are run by ASIC staff at ASIC offices. They are intended to update attendees (industry representatives and trustees) on ASIC's views and our approach on key issues.
  • Meeting with individual industry associations every six months. We encourage industry associations to invite their key stakeholders along to ensure a holistic industry discussion including both the association and individual trustee commercial views.
  • ASIC Wealth and Funds Management Update.  The ASIC Wealth and Funds Management Update is a free periodic e-newsletter about regulatory developments and issues affecting the wealth and funds management industries. This newsletter is for AFS licence holders with banking, advice, insurance, superannuation, custodial or RE authorisations, superannuation trustees, responsible entities, industry associations and financial advisers. You can subscribe Subscribe to the update.

These initiatives complement the broader ASIC liaison delivered through presentations at conferences, roadshows and targeted updates.  We will also continue to hold meetings with industry where issues arise, or consultation is specifically required.  For example, we may hold roundtable meetings when we release consultation papers and these meetings would be in addition to the meetings detailed above.
