Variation to financial services banning of Paul Duncan

Published

The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) has approved an agreement reached between ASIC and Queensland man, Paul Duncan, to ban him from providing financial services.

ASIC had originally banned Mr Duncan from providing financial services for four years after an ASIC investigation found he had engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct (refer: 15-142MR).

Following an appeal by Mr Duncan to the AAT in June 2015, ASIC and Mr Duncan reached an agreement to reduce the term of the banning from four years to three years, commencing on 21 May 2015 and ceasing on 20 May 2018. This agreement was approved by the AAT on 7 April 2016.
