Former company director in court on charges of misappropriating $104,110

Mr Gavin Hyland, 53, of Alexandra Hills, QLD, has appeared before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on two charges of dishonestly misappropriating a total of $104,110 of investor funds, with the intention of gaining an advantage for himself in breach of section 184(2)(a) of the Corporations Act.

Mr Hyland has been granted bail and released on his own undertaking. The matter will next be before the court on 24 June 2016.

The matter is being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.

On Friday, 5 August 2016, Mr Hyland was committed to stand trial in the District Court in Brisbane. The matter is next listed for mention on 3 February 2017. Mr Hyland has been granted bail on his own undertaking.
