ASIC cancels CAIP Services' AFS licence for ceasing to carry on a financial services business

Published

ASIC has cancelled the Australian financial services (AFS) licence of CAIP Services Pty Ltd effective from 8 July 2026.

The AFS licence was cancelled after ASIC found that CAIP Services Pty Ltd was no longer using the AFS licence to provide financial services.

Under s915B(3)(a) of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), ASIC may suspend or cancel an AFS licence if the licence holder ceases to carry on a financial services business.

Background

CAIP Services Pty Ltd had held AFS Licence number 432297 since 6 February 2013. It was authorised to carry on a financial services business to deal in and provide financial product advice in relation to general insurance and life risk insurance products to retail and wholesale clients.

CAIP Services Pty Ltd has the right to appeal to the Administrative Review Tribunal for a review of ASIC's decision.
