If you get mail for a company that isn’t yours

  • If you are a registered agent and no longer permit a company to use your address, there are extra steps you should complete to stop the mail.

How to stop the mail

Write 'Return to Sender – company no longer at this address' on the envelope and mail it back to us.

If you’re a registered agent, follow the steps below to stop the mail.

Tell ASIC that you no longer act for the company

If you haven’t already, tell ASIC that you are no longer the company’s registered agent. You can use this form to tell us:

If you have completed Form 361 and are still receiving mail, continue to Step 2.

Withdraw your consent using the online enquiry form

Your address might be recorded as the company’s registered office address. If this is the case, you need to withdraw your consent for the company to use your address.

You can withdraw your consent using our online enquiry form:

  • Go to the online enquiry form.
  • From the dropdown box with the words ‘My question is about a’, select ‘Company’.
  • From the dropdown box with the words ‘I would like to know how to’, select ‘Maintain information’.
  • Select Submit.
  • Enter 'I withdraw my consent for <company name> to use my address', in the box labelled ‘My question is’.
  • Beneath this box, enter information about yourself, including your name and email address.
  • Submit the form.

We will then advise the company to change their registered office address on the company register. If they don’t do this within 28 days, we will change the registered office address to the company director’s home address. This will take effect 7 days later.
