About the register

This register lists lenders with carried over instruments who have notified us that they do not hold a credit licence.

A carried over instrument (COI) is a credit contract that was:

made and in force before 1 July 2010
subject to the Uniform Consumer Credit Code.

Information available on the register

The register lists:

the lender’s address
the lender’s ABN or ACN
whether the lender is prescribed.

The register includes whether the lender is a member of an external dispute resolution (EDR) scheme, and if so the type of EDR scheme. This is now the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
