Fee payments and queries

ASIC fees
ASIC collects a range of fees from companies and other entities, in line with Commonwealth law. The law states when a fee must be paid and how much the fee is. ASIC fees are not subject to GST.
Each year, on 1 July, we increase some of the fees, in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
These are some of the most common fee types.
ASIC invoices
When we charge a fee, we will usually send you an invoice that states how much you owe. The invoice will also include a list of recent transactions and information on how to pay the invoice.

Checking your account balance
Your invoice will list your current account balance and highlight any money that is owed.
Missing payments
If you’ve made a payment and it’s missing from your account, it may be because:
- some payments may take several days to be processed
- you made an error when making the payment.
Please check that you entered all the correct details when making your payment. If you need help locating a payment we can assist.
Refunds
You may be able to ask for a refund if:
- your application for a business name or company has been rejected
- you accidentally overpaid a fee to ASIC.
Fee cancellations (waivers)
ASIC has limited power to cancel fees. We can only consider this if there have been issues outside of your control.
You will need to tell us about your situation and give us supporting evidence. We need to consider all the facts and circumstances of your case.

Payment options
There are different ways to pay fees to ASIC. They may include:
- BPAY
- Post Billpay/Australia Post
- credit card
- cheque.
International payments must be made in Australian dollars via direct bank deposit.
