Financial reporting and audit

Consolidated reporting and audit instruments

ASIC considers there is a simplification benefit in consolidating legislative instruments that apply to related subject matters or industry sectors.

In Report 813 Regulatory Simplification (REP 813), we consulted on a pilot legislative instrument that consolidated reporting, accounting and audit instruments into a single instrument. In response to positive feedback received, we committed to make a consolidated reporting instrument and consolidated audit instrument in Report 830 Regulatory simplification progress report (REP 830).

In CS 54 Proposed consolidation of financial reporting and auditing instrument (CS 54), we consulted on drafts of the consolidated reporting instrument and consolidated audit instrument. The final instruments were made as the ASIC Corporations (Annual and Half-year Reporting) Instrument 2026/468 and ASIC Corporations (Auditing) Instrument 2026/469.
