This page explains how registered liquidators can contact ASIC and access assistance on insolvency-related matters.
Using the contact channels below will help ensure your inquiry reaches the most appropriate ASIC team and is responded to as efficiently as possible.
Before contacting ASIC
Before contacting ASIC, registered liquidators should first review ASIC's published guidance and regulatory resources. Commonly used guidance and resources are outlined in the dedicated email contacts.
Where these materials do not address the inquiry, registered liquidators should:
- identify whether the inquiry relates to one of the dedicated email contacts listed below and if so, send their inquiry to that mailbox
- send their inquiry to the RL Queries mailbox, where no dedicated email contacts apply, or
- use state-based team contacts only where the matter remains unresolved after using the appropriate dedicated email contacts or the RL Queries mailbox.
Contact channels for registered liquidators
The following contact channels are available to help registered liquidators direct their inquiries to ASIC.
Dedicated email contacts
Inquiries from Registered Liquidators and their staff can be directed to the following dedicated email contacts.
RL queries mailbox
If no dedicated email contacts apply, registered liquidators may contact: RLqueries@asic.gov.au.
The RL Queries mailbox should be used only for matters that cannot be directed to a more specific ASIC contact channel.
When not to use RL Queries mailbox
The RL Queries mailbox should not be used for:
- fee waiver requests – these need to be applied for. Only consider emailing us if your request was declined and you believe there are grounds for the request to be reconsidered.
- lodgement of forms – forms should be lodged via the Registered Liquidator portal or ASIC regulatory portal. You may lodge a paper form by email, depending on the form. If you must lodge a paper form by email, or mail, you can download a blank form by searching our forms.
- creditor correspondence – where ASIC is a creditor, registered liquidators should send their correspondence directly to epaymentenquiries@asic.gov.au
- providing copies of forms – please see How to lodge forms: online, email, mail. We are unable to process forms which are sent to RLQueries@asic.gov.au, or
- general lodgement queries – registered liquidators should refer to Information Sheet 29 External administration, controller appointments and schemes of arrangement: Most commonly lodged forms (INFO 29) for guidance.
Before emailing RL Queries, registered liquidators and their staff should also check previous issues of the ASIC Corporate Insolvency Update, as general inquiries may already have been addressed. To search the newsletter:
- visit the ASIC Corporate Insolvency Update webpage
- enter your search term into the search bar at the top right corner, e.g. 5022, and
- refine your search results by selecting ‘newsletter’ on the left pane.
State-based contacts for unresolved inquiries
State-based team contacts should only be used where:
- the inquiry cannot be resolved through the relevant dedicated email contacts or the RL Queries mailbox, and
- the registered liquidator has already contacted another contact channel listed above without resolution.
When contacting a state-based team contact, please provide the following details to enable us to assist with your inquiry:
- the background to the matter
- the relevant company or external administration details
- the ASIC mailbox or contact channel previously used
- any ASIC reference number or prior correspondence, and
- the specific issue that remains unresolved.
