Change your auditor registration details

This page contains information on changing your auditor registration details.

Both individual auditors and authorised audit companies can lodge Form 905 Notification of change of auditor details (Form 905) using ASIC’s auditor portal to:

  • update your auditor registration details
  • change your principal place of practice address
  • appoint a new director to an authorised audit company, or
  • notify us that you are ceasing to practise as an auditor or authorised audit company.

Authorised audit companies (AACs) may also use Form 484 Change to company details (Form 484) or Pro forma 217 Deed: authorised audit company run-off insurance cover (PF 217) for changing different aspects of their auditor registration as outlined below.

Change of details

Change of address: Individual auditor and authorised audit company

Changing your principal place of practice address will not automatically update the address for the capacity in which you practice. You will need to complete relevant sections of the Form 905 to notify ASIC of the change in both the principal place of practice and capacity details.

Where an AAC notifies ASIC of a change to the principal place of business address via a Form 484, a Form 905 must also be lodged to advise the change of principal place of practice of the AAC.

Submitting a Form 484 to change address details for any other office held (for example: director, secretary, liquidator or member) will not update your auditor details.

Appointment of a new director to an AAC

The AAC must first lodge a Form 484 to notify ASIC of the appointment of any new director(s) to the company. The AAC must also lodge a Form 905 to notify the appointment of the director(s) to the AAC together with an executed PF 217 from each of the newly appointed directors.

Pro forma 217 Deed: authorised audit company run-off insurance cover

PF 217 is a pro forma deed concerning professional indemnity insurance run-off cover for an authorised audit company. It is to be executed by each director of the company as a condition of registration of the authorised audit company.
