How to log in/forgotten user name and password resets

Follow this guide when:

  • you have forgotten your user name or password or 
  • you want to log in to your online account to enable you to:
    • read forms sent to your inbox
    • submit forms
    • view your registered agent details and
    • update your contact details.

Get Started

Before you begin using this guide you must:

  • be an ASIC registered agent
  • have your user name and password
  • have your registered agent number.

For instructions on how to log in, go to Log in (page 3).

If you have forgotten your password, go to Forgotten password (page 7).

If you have forgotten your user name, go to Forgotten username (page 16).

Log in

Visit the ASIC website at www.asic.gov.au.

  • Select 'Registered agents' from the drop-down list on the right hand side of the screen.
  • Select 'Log in' to continue.

Enter your registered agent number.

  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Enter your user name and password into the security browser window. If you have already logged on today, you may not be required to enter your user name and password. You may automatically be directed to your inbox.

  • Select 'OK' to continue.

You are now logged in and your inbox will display.

Forgotten password

Visit the ASIC website at www.asic.gov.au.

  • Select 'Registered agents' from the drop-down list on the right hand side of the screen.
  • Select 'Log in' to continue.

Select 'Forgotten password' in the left hand menu.

Enter your registered agent number.

  • Enter your user name.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

User names, passwords and answers to the security questions are case sensitive.

Answer your security question.

  • Select 'Next' to continue.

If you do not know the answer to your security question, you will need to contact ASIC.

Record your newly generated password.

  • Select 'Click here to change your password'.

Enter your user name and the randomly generated password.

  • Select 'OK' to continue.

Enter the randomly generated password.

  • Select 'Yes' to 'Do you wish to change your current password?'
  • Enter your new password.
  • Re-enter your new password.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

To confirm your new password you must review the contact details.

  • If the details are correct, select 'Next' to continue.

Enter your user name and password in the security browser window.

  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Your password has been changed and the system will take you to your inbox.

Forgotten username 

Visit the ASIC website at www.asic.gov.au.

  • Select 'Registered agents' from the drop-down list on the right hand side of the screen.
  • Select 'Log in' to continue.

Select 'Forgotten user name' in the left hand menu.

Select 'As an ASIC registered agent' as the basis on which you are applying.

  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Enter your registered agent number.

  • Enter the email address you supplied at registration.

If you do not have either one of these details, you will need to contact ASIC.

  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Confirmation

This screen confirms your request was submitted to ASIC

An email will be sent to your nominated email address providing your current user name, and list of all user names current for your registered agent number.

  • Select 'Next' to continue.

What is an ASIC key?

Your ASIC key is a unique number used in ASIC Connect that helps us establish your identity and protects your business information by making sure only you and those you have authorised can access it.

What is an industry funding security key?

Your industry funding security key is a unique number used to launch an online transaction in the ASIC Regulatory Portal that will enable us to calculate your final industry funding invoice. You will be prompted to submit business activity metric information on the operation of your business in the previous financial year.
